For the first time in a while, this hasn’t been me! Small victories.
Well done!!! Any tips?
Honestly? A really good therapist, reading some very interesting books, and prioritising building a community & finding my people.
Meanwhile my autistic ass wakes up at six and then proceeds to spend the whole day coding something useless or tinkering with my Linux setup until it’s perfect. Which feels great but also like… where did my day go?
The 4 stages of a day off;
- Identify day off. (It’ll be Wednesday!)
- Identify all the shit you need done before the next following workday (laundry, meal prep, shopping)
- Get all that shit done between now and then (looks like I’m shopping Monday afternoon, meal prepping Monday night, hitting “start” on laundry Tuesday afternoon after getting home and throwing work clothes in)
- Day off!
This post brought to you by treating my ADHD with prescribed stimulant medication (and my refusal to take it on days off, even if that means I sleep all day because I’m all unfocused).
My wife actually does things on her days off. It really doesn’t mesh with my desire to just relax.
