I wouldn’t call it crazy at this point.
Basically a deer with a human face. Despite probably being some sort of magical nature spirit, his interests are primarily in technology and politics and science fiction.
Spent many years on Reddit before joining the Threadiverse as well.
I wouldn’t call it crazy at this point.
Day 1, I replicate a replicator kit and put it together. I also contact a realtor and let them know I’m interested in buying some land. Off grid, far from cities, doesn’t matter.
Day 2, I replicate two replicator kits and put them together.
Day 3, I replicate four replicator kits. I’ve now got eight of them. I’m not sure I’ll need sixteen, at least not right away, and my basement is starting to get a bit crowded. So I’ll leave it at that for the moment, but the moment I think I need more replicator capacity I can have it.
“Maybe someday they’ll let a Democrat be president for three terms!”
Don’t depend on this. I didn’t expect him to survive his first term, but there’s something about evil that seems to keep the body animated long past its best-by date.
Tack on a few hundred for vaccinations, it’ll disappear into that.
Some vaccines that may be possible but I can’t imagine it would be cheap even if you could check for the 20+ vaccines I’ve had.
How much were you expecting your “escape” to Europe to cost?
Frankly, as a citizen of a formerly-allied country that the US is now openly discussing annexing by force, I’m fine with them crippling their military with absurd rules and standards. Go nuts, Hesgeth. Pile on the racism and sexism and whatever. Kick out any pilots or gunnery officers or whatever that are good at their jobs but that can’t run a mile in whatever arbitrary time you pick. Ensure there are lots of well-trained former military personnel in your country that are bitter at your government but no longer under its control. I’m sure it’ll go great.
I considered Bush II to be the “first transgression” already. There are some further back too, of course, you can go back to the Gulf of Tonkin or even the USS Maine, but the Iraq invasion was the first where all the contradicting evidence was already fully available to the public if they cared to go look at it. Those “misadventures” in the Middle East and Afghanistan were where the first pebbles of this current avalanche of American collapse really started to move, IMO.
What we’re seeing now is just the point of no return, where nobody’s trying to stop the slide any more.
Over on Reddit today I got the coveted “[Removed by Reddit]” award for a comment where I merely predicted that this would end in violence. This is the Fediverse and I can be a bit freer in saying that at this point that’s probably the better option for America, to make it absolutely clear what “side” the general public is on.
I doubt that America will choose the better option, though. Cowards.
It’s bitterly ironic that the only people who have taken literal shots at Trump so far were themselves crazed Republican nutballs, his own base. I give America no bonus points for those attempts.
Seeing the video of that girl at Tufts getting abducted by the police, I don’t blame people if they are too afraid to protest.
Land of the free and home of the brave.
I love the catch-22 that this puts Trump in. If he declares that none of the details of the discussion were classified, then the journalist can release those details without legal issues. If he declares that they are classified, this happens.
The US isn’t the sole authority that can declare a pandemic.
No need to wait for the next pandemic, this will cause devastation due to the previous one.
Were they obstructing the sidewalk? I could see Florida Lawyer making a case from that.
I’m including inevitable future deaths in Trump’s kill count. He’s already set in motion actions that will lead to more - ending of various aid programs, ending medical research, putting an anti-vaxxer in charge of the health department, and so forth. His policies regarding Ukraine, Gaza, Yemen, etc., will lead to at least as many combat-related deaths.
In terms of the destruction of America’s alliances and reputation, Trump has already vastly exceeded anything Bush II did and he’s only two months in. In terms of the destruction of America’s system of government, same.
Silently thanking whatever dark powers they believe in that not only did they get away with it scott-free, their crimes have now been eclipsed by more flagrant recent ones.
Ah, okay. Since you opened with a question I assumed you were engaging in debate with me, which was confusing since we seemed to be in agreement.
Well, yes. I am opposed to repealing section 230, it’s one of the few good parts of the CDA. I’m arguing with someone who’s in favour of repealing with section 230.
Sure, but wouldn’t it be nice if people inside the USA could still run instances too?
“Genocide? What genocide? The Palestinians self-deported after being given a tremendous deal, the best.”
