It depends on your instance. There are 3 main tankie instances. Hexbear, Lemmygrad and lemmy.ml my instance blocks the first two but allows the last. This is because ML users are generally not obnoxious and keep their politics within their instances while the other two run wild all over other instances. Personally I dont feel like ML users are that bad. There is right wing lemmy instances but Majority of the instances de federated from them over their disgusting views. I think lemmy does a good job and has the infrastructure in place to promote a healthy range of political views.

Whats the complaint? Which community did you post this to? If it was posted to a community on lemmy.ml then its fair for them to remove the post, its their instance and they dont care about these posts. If this was reddit you’d have no where else to go. At least with Lemmy you can post to a community on a sane instance.

The user growth we’re seeomg could result in an overwhelming flood of users at anytime. Which is why people should consider supporting the lemmy devs and instance admins either financially or through contributions so that the lemmy software and infrastructure is ready to handle the growth.

The thing is that “normies”(I hate the term) weren’t on reddit when it was the size of lemmy. The only experience they have is joining it after it had 10 years of development reached critical mass of users.

So we are stuck being compared to an impossible standard. When I compare Lemmy to old reddit lemmy hands down blows it out of the water. Old reddit had cp and racism on the front page every single day for years.It was hard to use and hostile to new users.

I’ve seen lemmy pop up in search engine posts already which was cool to see. Ive also seen lots of high quality intelligent posts granted they are only tech related but we will grow.
