Sorry, but I don’t believe you. Trump didn’t get many more votes than last time, the Dems just got fewer. Had Biden stepped back earlier and given someone else a real chance, things would probably have turned out differently.

I would agree that most people would have lost given the short time. Not everyone, because there was real energy and hope for some time (before wonderful statements like “things won’t change with me”), but most Dems.

Why?

In a way, I try to live my life so that if some kind of higher power existed, they’d think I am a good person. Not as a gambit to get into heaven or whatever, I don’t believe in that. But trying to imagine an objective arbiter of morality makes it easier to take myself out of the equation, which means I’m more likely to treat others as I want to be treated.
