It’s a damn shame if we’re being real. It reminds me of sports betting. I’m glad your friend has overcome that obstacle. I can’t grasp the issue myself because the idea of it offends me, but I recognize addiction and destructive behavior when I see it.
Hopefully things will change for the better. At least in the US, we’ll have to wait for a regime change, however that comes about.

I’ve had to restart payments after a years long period of protest. They told me my loans were as good as done a while ago. I still have that email. But now they’re threating to garnish my wages, so I have no choice. Feels bad man. I never defaulted.
We can accept the outcome while still acknowledging the bullshit that occurred. Still, It’s in everyone’s best interest to be rid of the douche. I’ll be in support of anything that furthers just that.
My coworker told me he’s spent I think he said $8,000 on Destiny 2. That was half a year ago or more. So more by now. I was so floored that I don’t remember the number exactly but it was astronomical. One of the few times in my life I struggled not to show a disrespectful amount of shock or however you wanna put that.
Today he told me his friends are trying to get him into Warframe. But he said he didn’t like the idea of not being able to get into the main quests without jumping through hoops. I don’t know either game well, but I’m pretty sure that’s ironic.
It’s escapism for him, I know that much, so it’s tangential.
Honestly, it sounds like a case of refugees. It’s understandable with the current climate to be cautious. But all I can say to them is welcome to the free world, assuming they’re released in the near future. From what I can gather it’s hard to believe these two or the father and son prior had any real ill intent.
