I have experience participating in local chapter for a party, but when you get some ideas pushed to a party congress and get it squashed because it’s being controlled by the people opposing the change it kind of turns you off.

Taking over Dems is next to impossible for progressives as entrenched elite is backed by “big money” and is effective at torpedoing progressives every time. Take big money out of politics and you may have a chance at overtaking party, otherwise - screwed

challenging? sure, but if there were ever conditions for the viable split it would be now. Progressives could splinter Democrats enough for mainstream dems take notice. What’s needed is a desire to make it happen and a few capable leaders to unite folks behind the idea… AOC and Bernie may be able to pull it off but haven’t indicated any desire yet
