Almost none of their ‘culture’ is original. I’m struggling to think of a single part that is, whether NSDAP or neo-nazis.

    • skinheads: nope (imitating of the punk movement, SHARPs are still beating up neo-Nazis)
    • fashwave: nope (shallow copy-paste of vaporwave-inspired techniques)
    • ‘based’/Pepe/Wojak: nope (even on 4chan, none of these originated from the /pol/ board or political discussions)
    • NSBM: nope (BM)
    • roman/viking/etc. roleplay: nope (Nazi Germans copying Roman culture is kinda funny when you think about it)
    • Nazi ideology/neo-Nazi ideology: nope (both are a syncretic mess of other ideology’s conclusions, as a result there’s no consistent worldview capable of long-term success)
    • “National Socialism”: nope (name borrowed from an Austrian party[1], named to try and appeal to a wider audience by borrowing ‘left-wing’ and ‘right-wing’ symbolism. In fact, Hitler was in favour of a different name to try and distance from socialism)

I really can’t think of anything.

  • Funny how you guys have latched onto Gaza like shit on velcro, but have not had a single thing to say about Sudan, Myanmar, and the Uighur’s being ethnically cleansed.

My government is not supplying weapons to those other conflicts, of course I care more about the one that me and the people around me have more ability to stop. There’s no merit to whining about the world, the point is to change it, and I have worked with people to disrupt weapons shipments to the Zionist Regime, just like the union movements before me did with shipments to Apartheid South Africa and Imperial Japan.

  • Related to tests and skills, What if we just didn’t mark students?, a short talk from a university course runner and educator in general.

It makes some points that are already familiar or easy to notice, but it’s also an interesting exploration of academia, tests and skills. I know some students who learn under that lecturer and what they’re taling about clearly comes through in the course structure. One notable part is that one tutorial class is responsible for making notes for each week of lectures, and the whole cohort is allowed to bring those collaborative notes into the exam, like a semi-open book test. I heard they just decided one class to have a lesson on rhetoric instead of cybersecurity because it’s a pretty nerdy industry and one involving invisible risks, and there’s no point being an expert if you can’t convince your boss to let you fix the problems.
