I’m almost that age, and am technically adept also. I’d say the “old people on Facebook” age is a good bit higher. I’m sure some people who are 65 or 70 understand what AI is too.

Have they? What I’ve seen is people over 50 60 (really 65) have zero idea that AI exists and consistently fall for obviously absurd Facebook posts.

A few things wrong with this. One, it’s not “fit in” as much as “don’t be discriminated against and abused”. Then, also it’s not clear why having rainbow hair and glasses challenges the “core values and beliefs” of this generic mob. And also, I don’t think the ratio is quite right. Then there’s the issue that in reality it’s more like conservatives are “hey change your core values and beliefs or we want to murder you”.

Can’t even call it capitalism most of the time, just “liberals” which is confusing in US political terms.
