Am I tripping or does “Republican black woman” sound odd? English is my second language so I’m not sure but to me it has the same vibe as “arrow and bow” or “a red, big sign”.

It seems fine but I had to check the “order” and it seems like it’s color(6) / origin(7) or maybe purpose(9). https://7esl.com/order-of-adjectives/

I don’t think it sounds off enough that someone would call it out.

Edit: I had to dig deeper, apparently you could consider it a “noun adjunct” which means it would be valid.

I’m a native speaker and it sounds off to me too. I would definitely go with “black republican woman”.
