No leave him there. I don’t want someone competent enforcing Trump’s (or any other US president’s) will abroad.

Jeffrey Goldberg has been a loyal ‘journalist’ to the State Department, and has been an IDF guard in an Israeli torture prison

As an Israel Defense Force volunteer during the First Intifada, he worked as a guard (or “prisoner counselor,” as he later insisted) at the overcrowded Ketziot prison camp, which was condemned by human rights groups at the time for violating the Geneva Conventions. There, he witnessed a fellow guard beating a Palestinian prisoner for talking back. In Goldberg’s account, he tried to stop his friend but then helped cover the incident up (“‘He fell,’ I lied”).

Everyone on that call should be fired, arrested and permanently lose clearance for discussing confidential information over a commercial service.

Everyone is focussing on the wrong problem. It’s not that there was a security breach because a journalist was accidentally invited. There was a security breach because this clown show thinks security policies don’t apply to them, because they are too “smart” or something. I’m positive there’s a policy against that sort of discussion on a commercial service. I’m positive that this could not have happened if they used the acceptable government service.

If y’all remember all the investigations about Hillary Clinton’s email server, this was the worry: shit happens when you violate policy by conducting government business outside of government services. Of course they made a giant media spectacle over Clinton for month? Years? And I don’t remember if they even found government business, especially since she was not elected to office. This clown show deserves at least as much attention, at least as much of a circus, but it was actual confidential information, an actual breach. Where are the consequences?

I mean, this is on brand for them.

And I want to believe there’s some mega 4D chess move going on, involving deliberately leaking false plans to mess with the enemy. But then I remember these are self-righteous buffoons who believe themselves above the world and have the hubris to match it. 🤏🧠

I mean he SHOULD kill himself on live TV. Give the people some good news while doing your actual best to be beneficial to the world.
