Not that I don’t disagree with you but there is a political tactic that I believe was started with FDR or Kennedy…I can’t remember exactly.

Basically, you are correct that Congress makes the law saying how the money is to be spent. However the executive branch decides when to release those funds. The president decided to wait until the last possible moment to release those funds, basically forcing departments to spend the money as quickly as possible before the end of the Fiscal Year since the funds are use it or lose it. So essentially the money is allocated and then clawed back.

The problem is that Trump and DOGE are doing this to raise money for tax breaks for the rich and for political grandstanding. And to accomplish Project 2025.

If this was done by a poor person (e.g. net worth of less than $500k) they would have.

We need to stop having different rules for the rich just because they can afford it.

He doesn’t have to. The goal of Trump is simple: exert power. He doesn’t care who gets hurt in the process so long as his base sees him as their God (intentionally using the capital G here).

There aren’t many people who are willing to evaluate their entire political decisions and come to the conclusion that they were wrong. Even fewer who will admit it publicly. Even fewer still who will accept responsibility and then do something about it.

The conservative Christians I still talk to (that number is getting lower and lower each year) believe Trump is the third coming of Christ and that he cannot do any wrong.

These people are smart in many other ways except in this area.
