That’s not a bug, it’s a feature.

Kinda on topic, but imma give you some perspective into what it’s like to be a liberal leaning person in a deeply red county. Half my friends are independent or republican, all my coworkers and my boss are republicans, and even my dad is straight up MAGA. I’ve always voted third party because I hated that Democrats never get anything done, but I did vote heavily democrat this past election because I knew how fucked everything would be.

I would say 99% of people do not care or don’t think it’s a big deal. The ravenous Trump supporters you see on the internet and in videos are more of a minority than the norm. There are definitely some hardcore MAGA here but most everyone is just regular everyday people that are just carrying on like nothing is different. Most of them don’t spend much time on the internet and they hardly watch the news. I was talking about the tariff situation to a cashier at a gas station just this morning and it was the first time they were hearing it. And with the news not even covering half the shit that’s going on they probably never will. My roommate works downtown and he didn’t even know about the protests at the Capitol until I mentioned it to him 3 days later.

I guess my point is that the average person isn’t even informed. Not everyone spends a lot of time on the internet so they don’t even see what’s going on. They decide to vote specifically because the candidate says “Republican” and that’s the furthest thought that goes into it. Everyone talks about “this is what they voted for” as if any more thought went into their vote for Romney or McCain than their vote for Trump. And I don’t blame them for it because as far as they know, this was just like any other election. They’ve been bamboozled by local news to think everything is still exactly the same as they slowly pushed the Trump agenda onto them. The hardcore MAGA are definitely fascists in every sense of the word, but these regular everyday people are not fascists. They were just voting for the party they always voted for and were just expecting the same kinda shit from Trump’s first term, and the local news didn’t tell them anything different.

We got a new kid around 19 working at our office for processing data and I hate how true this is. The amount of times I’ve had to say “No, you have to double click to open folders” is entirely too many. Either that or “You have to actually right click on the icon you want to copy you can’t just click anywhere on the screen.”

I just wish people would stop focusing on something from the past that cannot be undone. And if you voted for Trump and regret your choice and actually have achieved empathy in the process I have no reason to make you my enemy. This is not the time to be going after each other when everyone is going to get fucked. You can silently enjoy someone’s misfortune, but it’s a misfortune that we will all see and experience in due time and it’s not productive for the future we are all going to endure. And right now, whether you are a democrat or a republican, the rest of the world is angry at you. Nobody is going to come and save the US and we need to get our shit together and stop focusing on what can’t be undone.

If you look at polling there is a significant number of republicans that are just as angry as democrats. And we need to help them so they can help us. The only thing blaming and “owning” each other is going to accomplish is that nothing will change. It’s like being on a sinking ship while everyone laughs that the other guy is going to drown while making no effort to get off the boat.

If only you had fucking done something about it instead of going on a power trip. This is literally your fault.

Of course they are. And everyone in the military should feel this way because this whole thing just shows that potentially every single order or piece of intel they have gotten for the last 2 months has been through Signal at some point. And what this also shows is that the people that are in charge of these departments do not even give a fuck about the safety of anyone in the military. I know there has always been certain degrees of separation between those in charge and those doing the actual work, but they’d risk national security and the lives of our military in order to avoid record keeping laws and are now lying to everyone that it’s not a big deal.

I’m running out of healthy and productive ways in which to express my anger and I don’t like it. Humor is keeping me grounded.

The big take away I’m getting from this whole situation is that the powers in charge give so little fucks about the lives of our military that they would risk all of their safety and throw them under the bus just to avoid consequences and avoid record keeping. If you or someone you know is currently in the military, you should be worried.

And Airbnb. Fuck that company and the people that buy houses and use them for this. My parents live in the mountains in a popular spot for vacations and camping. Nowadays they are the only house on their entire street that isn’t an Airbnb.

I haven’t seen something go this viral in this administration since the Nazi salute. Some have gotten close, but too many are just slipping through into obscurity. This one has been literally on the front page of every social media platform all day.

Guess i went too big for something that could fail incredibly easily.

So then, hypothetically, if they do this and we get hit with an EMP or a huge solar flare we will literally have nothing? I know it’s a little “tin foil hat” on my part, but I like to live by the rule of not putting all your eggs in one basket. I know this is an excuse for them to do a whole bunch of shady shit and destroy shit from the inside, but a random Internet stranger shouldn’t have a better grasp of national security than the president. Like, if this doesn’t set off red flags for you, you are either incredibly stupid or you think this will pay you out in some way. (Spoiler: it won’t)

Even my 70 year old mom knows this is a stupid idea and she doesn’t even know how to reset a router.

Well what the fuck are you doing about besides bitching on the internet? I’m genuinely asking because it seems like you’re doing nothing as well. We are way past the time to sit around and expect shit to get done without doing something ourselves.

Last time he was president it was BLM and critical race theory. Now it’s woke and DEI. Doesn’t matter what it’s called it’s the exact same thing: If you’re not a white male they don’t think you matter. And in a year it’ll be replaced with another acronym and everyone will forget about DEI just like they forgot about all the others.

I just compared Costco which didn’t roll back vs Target that did. In the last 3 months Costco is down 8% and Target is down 20%

Probably because they realise that all the companies that ditched DEI have been doing significantly worse. Almost like it’s something people want.

And I don’t 100% disagree. I’m just pointing out the double standard. If J6 was just a peaceful protest after they vandalized property, terrorized elected officials, and attacked police, then how is vandalizing Teslas terrorism? Either it’s all terrorism or none of it is. If you choose what’s terrorism and what’s not based on who it affects and not what actually happened you’re just putting targets on specific people. As you said, if you’re going to be a bitch, you gotta be the whole bitch.

You know what’s horrific and evil? Cutting Medicaid and social security for millions of people because your billions of dollars isn’t enough money to make up for the fact that you’re a giant man baby.
