Let’s go TACO, let’s go!!!

Update: Yes, the Dems have been pretty much useless but they can’t do anything when they have no majority in either the House or Senate and Don TACO is ruling by EOs.

But this is how you get him and them. Fuck the high road, hit them at their level. Call them names like weirdos and TACO. If anything induce strokes in all of them.

They can’t do anything without a majority?

A spending bill passed last month that did not have enough Republicans to pass it … Dems voted on it and helped pass it. This should not be happening.

No but the dems didn’t have a majority so they had to enable our enemies.

Maybe if we hadnt failed them it would be different, but without a majority they can only race to cqp>tulate faster and more extravagantly.

I think ‘hiring a taco truck’ is more concrete action to oppose fascism than we’ve seen from the democratic party so far, possibly year to date combined.

Guess well see in two weeks of “hiring a taco truck”, which to me falls into the literal least you can do, pans out with concrete action to oppose fascism or my bet is that they will roll over like they always do.

It’s so goddamn stupid. YOU WANT TRUMP TO KEEP BACKING OUT OF THE BAD THINGS HE’S DOING YOU DOLTS! Why would you mock him for doing the thing you want him to do? Do you think this will increase or decrease the likelihood of him doubling down on everything going forward and do you think he really is all that hurt by it? Come on.

It’s such a a weak ass thing that 99.9% of the people in the real world won’t even recognize when they see it because most people aren’t in on dumbass politics.

These people in charge. I don’t know how they don’t choke on their tongues and make it through each day without forgetting to drink water but I guess that’s what assistants are for.

Absolutely nothing wrong with that and come on, you know how cocaine and pedo addled brain is going to do this tacos or not because he’s a true believer in his big man BS.

Problem is these even weaker Democrat ass hats don’t have the convictions and constitution to see see this through. They’ll never expand beyond giving away tacos thinking this “How do you do, fellow kids” moment means they actually connected to the average moron voter and they go back to finding bipartisanship that feeds more of this bullshit behavior from Republicans.

What policy are the national Democrats intended to be doing with their swanky majorities of -8 in the House of Representatives and -5 in the Senate?

This is part of what the opposition is supposed to do. They criticise, make fun of, offer legislative resistance to, and draw attention to the bad policies of the government.

They can stop 6-8 of their own members from voting in favor of fascism.

They can make tangible changes in reality instead of lip service.

They can form a coalition and physically restrict access to the senate floor so nothing else can pass.

They can do a lot better if they weren’t complicit cowards

Honestly, satire is pretty effective. Hitler was obsessed with projecting power, and humor especially the kind many Jewish people used to survive the camps was a powerful tool for undermining that illusion. Humour takes power away from a thing. It’s why it’s great against powerful entities but feels evil when used against the weak. If more people had mocked him early on, the myth of a strong, untouchable leader might never have taken root.

It’s always baffling when a leftist jumps in to argue that pointing this out is somehow pointless or juvenile. Maybe it’s a lack of social intuition, or just a failure to grasp the bigger picture but too often, the left underestimates the power of cultural resistance. Ridicule, art, memes, jokes these are tools that shape perception and cut authoritarianism down to size.

And these politicians you roll your eyes at? They’re not doing it for themselves. They’re calling out people like you, trying to shake you awake, trying to keep the pressure on. But instead of joining in, too many of you just sit back, waiting for someone else to fix it all.

It’s effective if it’s combined with action. If democrats are, say, voting in enough numbers to help pass his spending bill, then this already overplayed tease is meaningless. Democrats don’t even try to obstruct. The least they could do is make witty satire instead latching onto anything with a hint of virality, beating it to death, and then beating the corpse.

Don’t over think the power of just teasing these fucking clowns. You’re not going to get action anytime soon. Do what you can.

It’s why the fascists won the spanish civil war; not enough liberals, and the damn anarchists were so anti imperial they thought appropriating cuisine from their former colony was bad. Fucking wokeness ends with fascist victory every time!

Have a list of promises to get people to elect you and an acknowledgement that you should have done it last time you were in power. If I saw them connecting not doing what people who voted in 2020, and not even stopping the Republicans to their 2024 performance, I might have have some faith. But no, all they can do is blame messaging and voters.

The point is they can’t even do performative politics because they are so uselessly bought and sold. It’s pathetic, really.

I get where you’re coming from, but are you actively attacking the government right now?

I think those who are part of the government have a greater chance of effecting change.

Moreover, I live in a red state (currently), and although our TST congregation is small, we do quite a bit.

Or just bitching about how other people aren’t doing enough?

        Why not both?

They’re planning to take away food stamps, end health insurance for the needy, and are trying to exterminate the T in LGBT (don’t worry, they’ll come for the LGBs too since its last hired, first fired). But, the best Dems can do is giving out tacos once as a political ploy?

Would you rather they not give out tacos? Fascist.

Maybe you should think about how you can best support the democratic party, instead of failing them by asking them to do literally anything? I think that makes the entire invention of fascism your fault.

Would you rather they not give out tacos? Fascist.

I’d rather something more substantial than one stunt of tacos. Like, give tacos to Americans in the Republicans home districts.

Maybe you should think about how you can best support the democratic party, instead of failing them by asking them to do literally anything?

I vote for them. I donate to the ACLU, the HRC, and the Trevor Project. I am a layperson who is not needed by the political machine more than every other year. I am working on passing the bar exam, so I can’t quite litigate yet. But, I will be in a position in a bit. So, do you have any suggestions?

My point that I made here:

are trying to exterminate the T in LGBT

was that evil must be opposed beyond mere tacos one time in one location as an obvious political stunt. Ask a T if these tacos would make the Zyklon B go down any easier.

Okay, so, first off, the democratic party cannot fail, only be failed. Big kamala slogan, if you even bothered to pay attention to the campaign, and i think it holds pretty true.

So if the dems are ever not doing something you want them to, it is entirely and personally your fault.

Furthermore, action for the sake of action is literally one of umberto eco’s main identifiers for fascism, so asking the dems to do literally anything makes you the real fascist.

          death by tacos

I polled four trans women and one trans man. All the trans women said if the zyklon b had to be adninistered orally, they would prefer it be on a taco than straight. The trans guy was from the midwest and asked if it would be spicy, so i think thats the main point of contention, and i cannot imagine fascists knowing what peppers are. Maybe dont speak ror marginalized people without their consent, asshole.

queer people in general and trans people in particular

look, sometimes in war, to accomplish absolutely nothing, you have to feed hundreds of thousands, or even millions of your own people into a meat grinder. Great generals like luigi cadorna knew this. But apparently some dipshit half-a-lawyer thinks they know better than the most lethal general italy has ever had.

if the dems are ever not doing something you want them to, it is entirely and personally your fault.

It’s my fault in that I am not rich like the big donors who bought our political system? I’m sorry that I do not have a million dollars to throw around.

Furthermore, action for the sake of action is literally one of umberto eco’s main identifiers for fascism, so asking the dems to do literally anything makes you the real fascist.

Maybe, but it can also be the grounds for revolution rather than fascism. But even if this point is correct, I ask: is better to go quietly into the extermination camps they’re setting up? Or should you ardently resist, struggle, and force them to drag you into the camp? I quote Dylan Thomas to make my point:

Do not go gentle into that good night. Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

I polled four trans women and one trans man. All the trans women said if the zyklon b had to be adninistered orally

Polling people over Zyklon B and its application is absurd. It shows that you either asked a foolish question or the recipients did not comprehend Zyklon B. Zyklon B was the cyanide-based pesticide gas used by the Nazis at Auschwitz-Birkenau, Majdanek, and other extermination camps. My point is that we’re dealing with Nazis resurgent, and the Dem’s tacos are a so limited in their messaging/resistence that its absurd. Evil is winning, and tacos are not how you oppose evil.

Maybe dont speak ror marginalized people without their consent, asshole

You don’t know me. You don’t know what communities I am and am not apart of. Furthermore, it is bold of you to assume I was speaking for anybody but myself. I was merely stating my position that tacos are a poultry pittance of a resistance against the evil that is the Republican party.

trans people are stupid and don’t know about the holocaust

One of them made a joke that referenced fritz haber. I think she knows what zyklon b was.

              rage, rage against

So you admit you’re just preaching hate? Because youre the real fascist?

              grounds for revolution

Fascism is just revolutionary conservatism. You’re really not helping your case here.

tacos are not how you oppose evil

You don’t know me! You dont know how i do things!

Also opposing evil is action, and action is fascist.

You know what neitzsche said: “he who fights monsters is always automatically worse than the other guy, because hes fighting abd fighting is bad.”

So you admit you’re just preaching hate? Because youre the real fascist?

Rage is not the same thing as hate. Where rage is an intense feeling of passion, hate is an extreme dislike or disgust. They are synonymous, but they are not the same. Rage would have been what they French expressed against King Louis the XVI and the first two estates, hate is what the Nazis expressed against the Jews and the other undesirables.

Fascism is just revolutionary conservatism. You’re really not helping your case here.

Fascism need not even be brought in via a coup. While Mussolini took over from a coup, Hitler was elected. They were revolutionary mindsets in that they were so diametrically opposed to the established reigns of power, but conservatism is not necessarily the direction revolution must follow. Take for example the French revolution or compare the Mensheviks with the Bolsheviks. Both those revolutions had a leftist slant. Hell even the American Revolution was a leftist position compared to the British parliament’s conservatism that was undertaken in during its empire.

Also opposing evil is action, and action is fascist.

Really? Tell that to MLK, Rosa Parks, or the march across the bridge to Montgomery. Tell that to the allies as they fought against actual Nazis.

                  rage is cool and good

So you admit that what you really want isn’t freedom, but a new red terror that makes the streets run red with blood? Thanks, comrade 1794; youre really selling the hell out of this

i listened to a podcast once

                  And kinda missed the point

nuh uh! Sometimes action is good!

Im sorry, but no; all action is fascist and only total submission and paralysis can be accepted.

                  fought against the actual nazis

Im old enough to have actually talked to a few of those guys, and, um… Clearly you aren’t, or missed the opportunity.

Plus they took action, which is the most fascist tjing you can do. Fighting against fascism is the real fascism.

It’d be really funny if they made this a regular thing to own the president haha and like they should do it everywhere across the country just to really hammer it in maybe they can buy specific free taco lots where they sell tacos and then put taco themed buildings up where you can stay overnight to support not liking the other guy gosh that would be hilarious

Action for action’s sake, huh? The left, in wanting us to do literally anything, are basically the same as the fascists, and just keep proving it over and over.

Really we should be reaching across the aisle for allies to fight them, nevermind all that stuff i just said about taking literally any action ever being fascist.
