Having had the “benefit” of decades of experience in the retail industry, I assure anyone reading who hasn’t, that most of us would be very happy to wear gloves all of the time, regardless of any given reason. Gloves or not, you still can’t touch yourself, it only saves washing your hands if you can’t. If you are near a sink, wearing gloves is just weird or for the theatre of people who think it makes a difference.
Not many diseases are spread by actual skin contact, still need to pick your nose and a glove doesn’t change anything.

I don’t think Costco ever jacked up the prices like that, it was just unavailable for a long time.
It isn’t that the prices are jacked up, it’s that it’s enough toilet paper to last until toilet paper goes out of style.
As a regular Costco shopper, no a pack like that wouldn’t be anywhere near that much, and no that many won’t last nearly as long as you think. Perhaps this isn’t USD though.
