Orange Gestapo “Homeland Security” has opened up a 60 day comment period for plans to collect Social Media accounts for anyone with a Visa or Greencard.
Link to provide Homeland Security with feedback is in the article as well as here.
Leave feedback, though I’m highly doubtful it will make any difference.
I left a comment, there’s only like 200ish comments. There should be hundreds of thousands…
This should be a pinned announcement imo.
How about “I don’t use social media”
Power off your phone. Tell the officer you forgot to charge the device. If they power it on, oh shit! You forgot your passcode!
Reminder, if you’re not a citizen they can hold you indefinitely until they get in, power or password.
If you are a citizen, they will seize your phone. Question of access remains, but they will just keep it.

I’d love a reference to where a citizen’s phone has been seized, if I missed it in this article I apologize.
If you’re traveling to the US for work and are not a citizen, ship your devices to where you’ll be staying. Bring a burner for the flight. Sorry we’re such a shithole.
2016 Matt Wright laptop taken for 2 months
2017 NASA Scientist and US Born Citizen
2018 Rejhane Lazoja US Citizen taken for 130 days
I’m sure there are others, this is just from a basic google search.
Thank you

It really is becoming an orange Gestapo. Quick fact, Gestapo (Geheime Staatspolizei) is an abbreviation for Secret State Police. Secstapo doesn’t sound as good tho.
Also, I recently came across this list. Might be useful for the American freedom fighters.

Just for some flavor, lots of people are convicted every day for crimes because they posted about it.
I can’t not boggle. It’s boggling.
When you fill DS-160 to apply for a visa you have to fill in your social media handles. Is this for those on ESTA?
For visitors yeah it already exists. I think what they want to do now is collect from people who are already inside the US, like applying for permanent residency, etc.
