    I was permanently banned from r/conservative for pointing out the letter that claimed that the DOJ had found evidence of massive voter fraud in Georgia, that contradicted the Republican Governor, Republican Secretary of State, Republican States Attorney General, and Republican election officials as well as the Republican Attorney General, and the DOJ itself was written by a Trumpist shill, not by the DOJ.

    I wish I could get flare for that.

      Most of reddit is 1 big echo chamber. And guess what, lemmy is even worse! They are both liberal echo chambers. Conservatives, Christians, and other such group try to carve out a spot for them selves in these online social arenas, places they should be welcome, but that’s not the case.

      Being in an “out group” on the internet is very hard. Anonymous assholes are able to terrorize people.

    Pretty crazy that, in their minds, in order to be considered conservative you need to support Trump when he’s very far from a traditional conservative… And what space does it leaves for conservatives of other countries? It’s it like/r/news or /r/politics that “actually it’s US specific around here” and the rest of the world needs /r/worldconservatives or something? (Which is also an issue on Lemmy by the way!)

      It was quite funny when the candidate race started and Trump wasn’t rerunning yet and the FBI raided Mar a Lago for the stolen files. The sentiment was usually something along the lines of

      “yeah Trump was not perfect and we always said this and we of course always let the authorities do their job, but also they should raid Biden and if Trump is convicted he is not a good president, but there is candidate x,y that is totally amazing.”

      Sometimes i wonder how much of it are just shills, how much it is people who suffer form serious cognitive issues and how much it is people who are aware but fine with lying to themselves constantly.

        Make posts there that are either critical of China, Russia (or even Iran) or positive about “the west” and you’ll find out.

        It’ll simply be deleted.

        They pretend to be a general purpose instance, but they’re not. It’s a tankie haven.

        Known for having moderation that’s heavily biased towards left (in a political way), and that defends “tankies”/pro authoritarian, while heavily criticizing capitalism and censoring opinions that they don’t like. Overall they’re not really proactive in that task, but their instance brings the few % of people from hexbear that are too passionate.

        An instance with a political point of view is likely to censor opposing opinions anyway.

            Gather around in your bubble goes against the idea of federation, which is ironic considering ml is the closest to an “official” instance.

            I mean that’s an even other point, but yea, political right is heavily censored and trashtalked, but that’s not only done by lemmy.ml, just by Lemmy not liking political right. We shouldn’t accept certain things, though, but yea, everyone should be able to voice their opinion, as long as it respects human rights and isn’t stated as fact but as an opinion.
