Summary
Federal funding cuts under Trump, including a $500 million program for food banks to buy local produce, are hitting rural communities like Rainelle, West Virginia, especially hard.
Dairy producer Trey Yates lost a key contract with Mountaineer Food Bank, threatening his business. Similar stories emerged from other small farmers relying on USDA grants now eliminated.
West Virginia, where Trump won 70% of the vote, relies on federal funds for over half its state budget.
Critics warn cuts will deepen poverty, strain schools, and devastate local agriculture-dependent economies.
I live in a very rural part of the country, my job is in the mining industry and it’s basically tied to the price of minerals and oil. I have a feeling my job and town will be hit extremely hard by all of Donny’s ideas.
And they would vote for him again.
And that’s why I simply refuse to continue to fuckin’ care about what happens to those idiots.
That’s the thing. I’ve worked in lots of rural construction. Their ideology is that he’s the Christian choice, the ideological choice, the choice that will save capitalism. You cannot sway them from these beliefs, even as they starve.
Then let them starve.

You were warned… You did it anyway.
It’s what you wanted… It’s what you got.
Suck on it. And choke.
I’ve no sympathy for you suffering the results of your stupidity.

Half their budget? They are welfare queens and/or socialists, take your pick.
Yep. You want to slash the Federal budget? Making red states and billionaires pay their fair share will go a long way.
And you won’t have to fire Federal workers to do it.
Of course that would only work if they gave a shit about the budget as opposed to whatever the fuck this governmental smash & grab this is.
And yet they’re all convinced that red states are the ones that keep the blue states afloat.
I hope the leopards tear them to shreds as they come crawling back, begging for the left to save them
I’m not happy they brought us all down with them. I’d rather there be less suffering than more, even if they are stupid.
Good I hope they feel the pain of their own political choices.
“Hey, rural conservative voters. Here’s what his track record is, and here’s what he’s *actually * admitted he’ll do. The policies will harm you and your families. Voting Republican would be like shooting yourself in the foot.”
*rural voters blast off entire foot with 12 ga. shotgun*
It’s because people had the nerve to make them feel stupid by telling them something they didn’t know or were previously wrong about.
They showed us.
Have to shoot off my own foot before I can run faster.
My folks live out in the rural Midwest and even they think the rural community gets what they voted for.
May they have the day they voted for.
That sounds like a double whammy to piss of voters. They definitely act as if future elections wont matter anymore.
“Ripple”
That’s a big misnomer, there. How 'bout those egg prices, Karen?
Too bad they can’t read.
Oh no! Anyway, is anyone else looking forward to Andor season 2?
As a person who is not comfortable sucking Disney’s cock fuck no I’m not
Piracy
I won’t even give them the mind share. I am a devout pirate.
Hear fucking hear! Fuck the mouse. I don’t care if watching Andor locks my age into 30, gives me a harem of willing concubines, and redistributes all of Elon’s wealth to me. I’m not watching it.
I’m not going to let Disney bother me over the best Star Wars thing I’ve seen in the last 40 years (presuming it maintains season 1 quality), but enjoy what you like!
Let’s hope they don’t ruin the last good thing they have going for them. I’m really looking forward to s2
I’m so sad that Ray Stevenson died. Baylen Skoll was the most interesting new SW character I’ve seen in a long time. Everything else about Ahsoka was mid (after a decidedly sub-mid start). Though I really hate the force gods storyline and that’s where his character was headed so maybe they’d have ruined that anyway.
I know everyone hated on the acolyte for good reason, but Manny Jacinto’s character was pretty interesting at the end. I feel like if that story had a little more room to grow…
I think I’m really hating on these super high budget 8-10 episode formulaic shows. Let’s go back to 24 episode seasons with lower episode budgets, more practical effects (less post production fuckery), and better character ensembles, like before the streaming age.
Anyway, let’s hope S2 lives up to expectations.
Oh and fuck the Trump voters the article talks about. I forgot about them.
